The following institutions and individuals form the core members of CPOGG:

The Transatlantic Center on Security and Foreign Policy at the Free University of Berlin is one of the leading European institutions in the field of International Relations and transatlantic relations in particular. Professor Thomas Risse has recently been appointed director of the Center for Transatlantic Foreign and Security Policy; before he was joint chair of International Relations at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy and had teaching and research positions in Konstanz as well as at Cornell, Yale, Stanford University and at the University of Wyoming. From 2002 on, he will be associate editor of International Organization.

The Forschungsverbund PRP at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, has developed into an international network where scholars from various disciplinary backgrounds conduct research, where senior and junior researchers actively work together and education plays an important role. The coordinator of PRP is Professor Friedrich Kratochwil. He is Professor for International Relations at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich; before 1995 he was Lawrence B. Simon Professor in Social Sciences, University of Pennsylvania. Currently Professor Kratochwil is also editor of the European Journal of International Relations.
